'44 Mai Tai

1 min read

Inspired by the legendary 1944 Trader Vic’s Mai Tai, this riff leans into rich rum and layered bitters for a deeper, more complex island classic. An iconic cocktail with a Silver Siren Twist.

Ingredients

1 oz Jamaican Rum

1 oz aged Martinique Rum

¾ oz fresh lime juice

½ oz curacao

½  oz Silver Siren Aku Aku Syrup

1-2 droppers Silver Siren Tangerine & Spice Bitters

Lime shell and mint sprig (garnish)

Method

Combine all cocktail ingredients in shaker with ice until chilled and frosty.  Strain into glass filled with chipped/pebble ice.  Nestle in the lime shell and mint sprig.  Top with 2-3 drops of the bitters to enhance the aromatics of  the fresh mint.

Siren Tip: Good rum makes the drink. Choose a bold aged rum and let the bitters replace some of the sweetness that modern Mai Tais often lean too heavily on.
